Our work continues: May COVID-19 update from TRI Director

A note from TRI Director, Lord Kakkar:

I hope this message finds you, your family and those you work with safe and well.

I would like to provide a brief update on TRI’s activities during this unprecedented time, and what you can expect from us in the coming weeks and months.

In March our staff based in London moved to remote working in compliance with UK government advice. Owing to our strong IT infrastructure and resolute staff we were able to make the transition with minimal disruption. I am pleased to say that thanks to the outstanding commitment of colleagues around the world, work on our ongoing programmes of research continues to the greatest extent possible.

You will no doubt be aware of emerging evidence about the novel coronavirus and attending covid-19 disease indicating thrombosis is a principal and damaging clinical manifestation. TRI is planning research projects designed to clarify the role of thrombosis and anticoagulation in covid-19 disease. Our operations team is now assessing how our global network can contribute to this vital work.

With best wishes

Ajay
