Medical Writer:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our Biostatistics and Medical Writing team at the Thrombosis Research Institute in London. As part of a dynamic and growing team, you will have the opportunity to work with other medical writers and statisticians within our institute, as well as directly with leading clinicians and multi-disciplinary team members. You will play a crucial role in supporting our research aimed at improving cardiovascular health outcomes. You will be responsible for creating high-quality written material across a range of media, including scientific manuscripts, presentation slides, posters, meeting reports and websites. You will present complex clinical information in a clear and concise manner and ensure accuracy of the information presented.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on current clinical research projects, help with the communication of new clinical studies and support study publications in clinical scientific journals
- Contribute to the content development of written materials (e.g. abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and a wide range of other medical communication activities)
- Build an increasing knowledge of the science/medicine of thrombosis to the degree required for effective communication with internal team members, clients, authors and target audiences
- Develops and maintains the publication plan of research studies Works with multidisciplinary project teams and external advisors to ensure projects are delivered within-budget, on-time and on-message
- Develops and deploys procedures to monitor project progress
- Ensures that processes are in place to coordinate and communicate plans, priorities and goals
- Defines, embeds and communicates standards for accuracy on all written materials
- Be part of our clinical research fellowship program, designed to educate clinicians in research methodology
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in cardiovascular research
Desired Skills and Experience:
- A PhD or Master’s degree in an area pertinent to the subject area, e.g., life sciences. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree with extensive working experience will also be considered.
- At least two years previous experience as a Medical Writer in the life sciences industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Basic knowledge of statistical concepts and methodologies
- Experience in project management is desirable
- Good knowledge of the clinical development and real-world evidence studies is desirable
- Familiarity with ICMJE, GPP2, STROBE will be considered
- Publication track-record in medical research would be an advantage
