Biostatistician III

Company Summary: We are a dynamic London-based independent research institute with a truly global reach (2500 research centres in 40 countries) and a research program dating back to 1965. We partner with leading clinicians, pharma and other research orgs to coordinate major studies with the end goal of advancing patient care, improving outcomes and saving lives. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a biostatistician comfortable with intermediate/advanced analysis, as well as able to manage their responsibilities on each project independently.

Typical duties: 

  • Translate clinical goals into questions that can be answered using available data and statistical techniques
  • Prepares statistical analysis plans for abstracts or manuscripts targeted to a clinical audience
  • Ability to work with clinicians on any phase of a manuscript project, from initial meetings through submission for publication 
  • Learns new statistical methods as needed for project application
  • Create and present clear summaries of analysis work (written and verbal) on request 
  • Identifies potential data problems from analytic queries and takes appropriate initiative to guide the process of resolution
  • Alive to alternative programming approaches to improve quality and/or efficiency
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow programmers, medical writers and data managers, as well as external partners 

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Expert in SAS and/or R programming
  • Statistical methods: survival analysis, time-dependent Cox model, multiple imputation, logistic regression, Poisson regression, propensity score methods and smoothing techniques
  • Experience in Real World Evidence
  • Experience within an epidemiological or outcomes research group
  • Comfortable working with large data sets
  • Education: 
    • Doctoral degree in biostatistics/related field and no relevant experience, OR 
    • Master’s degree in biostatistics/related field and 2 years experience, OR 
    • Bachelor’s degree in biostatistics/related field and 4 years relevant experience OR
    • An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
