The Thrombosis Research Institutes in London and Bangalore are among only a handful of organisations in the world undertaking a multidisciplinary approach to thrombosis research by bringing together clinicians and scientists involved in basic research.
Together the two Institutes employ approximately 80 staff. Each organisation is:
Both Institutes are administered and governed by a Board of Trustees who are also the Charity Trustees. They are responsible for the overall management and control of the institute including formulating the policies for the Institute research.
The Director of the Thrombosis Research Institute, London is Professor the Lord Kakkar, who is principally responsible for the implementation of policies agreed by the Board of Trustees for the Institute in London.
The Founder and President of the Thrombosis Research Institute, London and Founder, Scientific Chairman and Managing Trustee of the Thrombosis Research Institute, Bangalore is Emeritus Professor Vijay Kakkar OBE, who is principally responsible for the implementation of policies agreed by the Board of Trustees for the Institute in Bangalore.
