GARFIELD VTE

Welcome to the GARFIELD-VTE website

The Global Anticoagulant Registry in the Field of Venous Thromboembolism Event is a perspective, multicentre, international registry of patients with newly diagnosed VTE: Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and/or Pulmonary Embolism (PE). The GARFIELD-VTE Registry will bring a real-world perspective to the field of venous thrombosis. We will describe acute and long-term management and outcomes in patient populations, representative of everyday clinical practice in more than 20 countries. GARFIELD is a pioneering outcomes research initiative sponsored and coordinated by the Thrombosis Research Institute. Our worldwide observational programmes will enhance understanding of the burden of thrombosis and identify opportunities for the incorporation of innovations designed to improve safety, outcomes and utilization of healthcare resources.

The GARFIELD VTE website contains useful information on the study, including a list of participating sites, current status, and how to get in contact with the TRI team. You can also find useful information about VTE, the background and rationale, the objectives and end points, and the study design.

You will find messages from the core team alongside news archive.

There is an area dedicated to our participating sites containing information about  the electronic data capture (EDC) system, ‘Clinpal’,including help desk support information and advice on compatibility.

We have listed some guidelines for data entry which is intended to supplement the information in the investigator’s file. These include the essential data-entry and reminders.

There is a section totally dedicated to Garfield-VTE in UK, where you can find information for UK sites, such as Garfield VTE team contact details and the current status.
